Philanthropy, social conscience, and creativity are key themes in Shivawn Hill’s life and career. The Virginia native and graduate of Norfolk State and Wilkes University wants to be remembered as a woman who left her mark. As the author of Rewrite Your Story and owner of Signature Publishing, Shivawn is definitely making sure her presence in the world is felt and remembered. She also created and ran an online magazine, and was the co-business owner of The Beauty Boudoir Boutique.
Shivawn’s enterprises and philanthropy work are all centered on the objective of empowering women. She served as the creative director and event coordinator for a women’s shelter, which was created to bring awareness to domestic violence.
Her passion lies in encouraging other women to expand their platforms by motivating them to harness and execute their visions. She has developed and helped to implement the visual brand and identity of many women-owned businesses such as; Southern Roots Kitchen, DI’Vine Styling, Passport Moda 83, and Mind of a Diva.
On the production end, Shivawn has plans to direct and produce films for women screenwriters, as well as create ads, and web series that explores the various issues faced by African American women. Shivawn’s goal is to provide a positive digital space for women through film. She is currently in the process of developing her media company with her first documentary film, Lifting Crowns underway. The documentary will follow African American women who are living with depression on their road to mental health maintenance.
Shivawn Hill wears many hats, she’s a philanthropist, published author, business owner and entrepreneur, but most importantly, she’s a woman creating the change she wish to see in the world.
